Garden Ideas

How many people would think of using an old broken rake
to hang up their hand garden tools?  Great Idea!

Recycled materials can make for an interesting fence
if you're creative enough!

I liked this idea - a collection of metal containers
and now used as planters - grouped together
they look like they belong on purpose!

Have a corner that's not being used?
For the small price of these bricks,
you can create a corner planter!

I've seen tires stacked and painted,
but I like this whole border look to these!
and the colors are great too

Two liter bottles strung together and hung along a wall
creates a great focal point, and some greenery as well.
very cool recycle idea!

Reclaimed Wood

Just a few miscellaneous things I happened to spot, and found interesting;
A coat rack, from tree limbs!

Very interesting cabinet from recycled woods

A shed from recycled bits as well

I really like the look of weathered furniture!

Great shelving from wooden crates!

And a spice rack too!

Sports Furniture

Because football season is upon us, I thought finding football and sports related furniture might be fun!
Not all of it fits the upcycle/recycle theme.

Typical Football Chair -- I could watch a couple of games from here!

chair made from recycled footballs

Soccer ball chair -
the chrome base makes me think of the glorious 70s!
Another 70s find... beanbag chairs :)

Football helmet themed chair
claustrophobic for anyone??

For a boys room, the bed had yard lines,
and the headboard is like a scoreboard!
Go Home Team!

Couch made from recycled soccer balls
Innovative but I'm a little .... something
the uneven edges would drive me crazy :)

Football chair for an office!

Would this be the ultimate man-cave chair?
Seems like it to me!

And the tennis ball chair ... :)

Candle Light

what sets the mood better than candle light?
Simple jars to hang in the yard
Candlelight adds interest to this arrangement

A few simple sea shells to a glass votive
fits right in to a beach decor

Or learn to punch your own tin cans
with a design for a holiday!
a snowflake for Christmas,
a jack o lantern for halloween
the possibilities are endless
and they're cute too!

Plate Racks

Where I got the idea, I don't remember.  But years ago, I wanted some kind of plate rack to display treasured plates. I had it in my head it was Swedish inspired; or maybe I was looking at a book about Swedish interiors.  (It's part of my heritage, and I really like the clean lines!)  Here are a few different plate rack designs I found:

I like the shelf on top and shaker pegs below the plate displays

 Green always catches my eye!

All the white on white -- must be Swedish inspired!

A simple rack/cabinet, more practical than for displays.
Wouldn't a colorful set of Fiesta Ware look good in this?

Nice Blue and White touches :)

This one intrigued me, because its a lot of silver
or is it pewter?  Very interesting plate rack

Classic for the DIY - plate rack from an old pallet!

Lots of fancy boards framing up this plate rack

The soft green on green is very cozy, soothing

Another example of a pallet used as a plate rack.
Love the rustic looking kitchen!

This one is mine - for about $40 worth of poplar,
a small jar of stain, and a little trial and error
when assembling, getting the shelf portion
and front piece to hold the plates without letting them slip through.
My antique Vernon Ware "Linda" can now be on display :)

Benches

Sometimes I just have to look and find pix
that feed my creativity...
I find it relaxes me, allows my mind
to be free, wander where it will
and come up with ideas that work for me!

In the mean time, check out these benches:

 Road Signs bench
 Skateboards!

 Reclaimed wood

 Old newspapers

  Bicycle innertubes!

-A bench called Relaja, which means 'relax' in Spanish.

Tires!

I was looking up uses for tires today and found these
how fabulous on someone's patio!

Unique chair!! love the upholstery

another version of patio furniture from tires

... and used as planters I like the idea because you can
make them tall, short and inbetween

This is very unique... I could see this in a fancy service station!

 Playground equipment!

 and more gardening planters

a sink.... the slick black looks fabulous ....
but would it smell like tires in the rain when you use the faucet?
 (probably not...)
This arrangement of tires as planters works well!
