A Kitchen Update

Because there isn't much you can do with pressboard cupboards to make them look good, I opted for another coat of paint.  Agonizing over choosing a color scheme took a bit of time.  Once decided, removed the doors, and sanded them lightly since I didn't know how old the paint was, but it was shiny with time. Toasted Coconut, Early Spring Fawn and Flaming Red Hot are the colors.

In this picture, you can see the new color on the left is warmer.
Opted to strip the layers of paint from the hinges and leave them natural.

This first small cupboard, I painted the back wall in red,
thinking I will leave the door off, and use this one to showcase my Pyrex collection!

And the real work begins, taping off the trim board,
and beginning to disassemble the doors, paint the interior cabinets.

Oh boy, everything back in the cupboards!
Living with everything parked on empty surfaces
was a very long week!

Off to the right of the kitchen is a small dining area,
and this shelf of antique this and that's got a coat
of the red trim color as well!

Be Bold!

Be Bold! Don't be afraid of color!
How many of us tend to lean toward colors that are 'safe', and frankly, sometimes boring?  We all do it, maybe because our mothers did it that way?  But why not be bold, add some color!  Maybe you live in a place where you can't paint walls.....  add colorful pieces, or recover a couple pillows.  Check out these colorful rooms, all of them different, except that they chose to be bold!
Maybe a little too much color for me, but the two tone adds distinction
in what looks like a very small room

the purple pillows caught my eyes, and the rest of the room is white,
but they added the carpets in reds, an two different green chairs... now that's bold!
The turquoise bookshelf adds a lot of focal point in this room

The bright pink chair really catches your eye

turquoise bathroom... makes you think of a dip in the tub with a book to relax

And for a simple bit of color... how easy to hang a few beads
can't you imagine how the sun gleaming through those beads
would add colorful sparkle all over your room?
