Dual solution: Garden art and functional water tank screen | The Micro Gardener

This vertical planter was built as a functional screen
to hide an unsightly water tank from a kitchen window.
A low-maintenance succulent pallet garden is a clever solution!

Repurposed Planters

Every day we see things that we no longer use -- but what if we use our imagination and use them for some other purpose?  Here are a few ideas for plants:

An old bathtub
makes a nice place
to plant petunias
or other vining flowers

As a writer,
I'm not sure
I could do this
to a typewrter!

I love the whimsy
and color
of the rain boots!

an old chair,
painted up,
makes a good backdrop
for greens and flowers

Simple buckets attached
to a fence.... I would have
loved this when I had a
small apartment sized yard
in Ohio!

Hanging an old piece of gutter
makes for a perfect shelter
for smaller plants

Coffee cans painted
and attached to a brick wall
adds a striking contrast
