I found this one interesting - not sure I could have

a black wall, but it sure adds a touch of something!

Bedrooms, boho/southwest

A bedroom with a fireplace seems redundant in the southwest's heat, 

but desert nights can be cool, how nice a cheerful fire would be!  - Link

I keep looking at different southwestern motifs lately, wondering how I can upgrade my own home with some of these great features.  I realize that its a process, but until one decides on a motif at all, its hard to begin working toward any kind of goal.  I've got a perfect corner in my room for a fireplace -- even if it were just fake, it would look lovely!  Or maybe in the living room.... ahhh the choices, decisions.  But it sure is fun looking!  :)

Beds

I was looking up bedrooms, not looking for anything in particular, 

other than the usual criteria:  What jumps out and says "Yes, this is home!"

And of course, the usual, hotels/cabins/rentals had lots of bedroom photos posted. 

 The reds and greens made this feel very 'country' - Link

 Classic quilt pattern, but found humor that it was located

 in Intercourse, PA. *chuckles*  - link

 It was the shelves of books that  caught my eye here. - link 

 This one caught my eye, all wood and curves!  I felt it could rock me to sleep.... 

Until I had a good look at the setup - - -those lights had me assuming porn studio?  

Gotta love 70s thinkers!

 

Then I got to canopy beds..... and I turned to wiki:  "The canopy bed came into existence more for utilitarian means rather than for extravagance or decadence. In fact, the earliest incarnations were probably beds of common people seeking an additional layer of shelter beyond that of a less-than-impenetrable thatch roof. Canopy beds with curtains that could completely enclose the bed were used by lords and noblemen in medieval Europe for warmth and privacy, as their attendants often slept in the same room."

That being said... what is it about a canopy bed that makes girls think of romance?  Maybe its the fabric that's draped to and fro.  Or that from within, there's an illusion of privacy, that the real world can't touch the moment.   *sigh* such thoughts

 Not quite a four-poster bed, 

but if you're looking for an alternative in a girl's bedroom, 

this would work well :) - link

 

And last but not least, while this bed is to fussy for my tastes, 

I adored the wood platform, the exposed brick walls. - link 

 I think the best reason I can come up with 

for our love of canopy beds, is this quote I found:
