Candle Light

what sets the mood better than candle light?
Simple jars to hang in the yard
Candlelight adds interest to this arrangement

A few simple sea shells to a glass votive
fits right in to a beach decor

Or learn to punch your own tin cans
with a design for a holiday!
a snowflake for Christmas,
a jack o lantern for halloween
the possibilities are endless
and they're cute too!

Plate Racks

Where I got the idea, I don't remember.  But years ago, I wanted some kind of plate rack to display treasured plates. I had it in my head it was Swedish inspired; or maybe I was looking at a book about Swedish interiors.  (It's part of my heritage, and I really like the clean lines!)  Here are a few different plate rack designs I found:

I like the shelf on top and shaker pegs below the plate displays

 Green always catches my eye!

All the white on white -- must be Swedish inspired!

A simple rack/cabinet, more practical than for displays.
Wouldn't a colorful set of Fiesta Ware look good in this?

Nice Blue and White touches :)

This one intrigued me, because its a lot of silver
or is it pewter?  Very interesting plate rack

Classic for the DIY - plate rack from an old pallet!

Lots of fancy boards framing up this plate rack

The soft green on green is very cozy, soothing

Another example of a pallet used as a plate rack.
Love the rustic looking kitchen!

This one is mine - for about $40 worth of poplar,
a small jar of stain, and a little trial and error
when assembling, getting the shelf portion
and front piece to hold the plates without letting them slip through.
My antique Vernon Ware "Linda" can now be on display :)

boho green

When I'm stressed, I turn to green.
Here are a few things that caught my eye:
Serene bedding

Wonderful colorings!

 Green seems so serene

A little antique stove to go with the green counters

Even a simple green bottle adds to this collection

Here you can WOW them with green!

I think these soft green tones are perfect

A touch of green adds some whimsy to the charming space!

Stairs

How I wish I had stairs in my house,
I would do them with the book spines like this!!

This one's interesting with old suitcases

Reclaimed wood to build stairs out of

If you're musically inclined, this could work for you!

I really like the practicality
of shelving under the stairs

Or stairs being drawers as well
no sense wasting space!

Not my style, but very colorful!
Amazing what you can do with a little paint

Here in the desert, this would be very practical
using local materials to build what you need
is the right thing to do!

Benches

Sometimes I just have to look and find pix
that feed my creativity...
I find it relaxes me, allows my mind
to be free, wander where it will
and come up with ideas that work for me!

In the mean time, check out these benches:

 Road Signs bench
 Skateboards!

 Reclaimed wood

 Old newspapers

  Bicycle innertubes!

-A bench called Relaja, which means 'relax' in Spanish.

Beachy Boho

I love to look at images
and try to find a theme.
I have been dying to go
to the beach
so that's our theme here.

Love the turquoise
sheer panels for a canopy

What wonders would you
dream of under these?

Looks like a perfect spot
for a beach picnic!
Guitar and all

Colorful and cozy
anyone care to
curl up with a good book here?

All the wonderful light
streaming in these windows
accents the strong blues

Great dresser
in nautical blue...
with a surfboard
bulletin board!

 This one full of
bits and pieces...
throw in a few
seashell pieces
and it would fit in well

 What a view!

All whites
with soft
turquoise
for color.
Beautiful.
Peaceful.
Serene.

I had to include this picture
..... hanging beds!
